Liposuction is a procedure that helps to remove fat deposits and sculpt the shape in different parts of body. It can be performed via different procedures (invasive and non invasive).
Who should consider undergoing the liposuction invasive procedure?
Liposuction is performed for a healthy male or female with good skin tone who cannot reduce the excess fat by diet control or physical exercise.

How is surgery performed?
Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube or cannula is inserted and used to vacuum the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula is pushed then pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out.

Fluid injection is a technique in which a medicated solution is injected into fatty areas before the fat is removed.

Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia.

What is the preoperative care?
Cessation of smoking, alcohol consumption for 2 weeks prior to surgery to reduce risks and complications during an operation. After liposuction surgery, you will be asked to wear a compression garment for about 3 months to support the surgical area. Your will be able to return to his work within a week after the surgery. The heavy activities should be avoided during the first few weeks.

What are the common complications?
Common complications include infection risk, delayed healing, formation of fat clots or blood clots, excessive fluid loss, friction burns or skin or nerve damage.
The risk of these complications occurring is greater in patients with medical chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart or lung disease.
The risk of complications arising from procedure can be minimized if the patient strictly followed the attending surgeon�s instruction.
