Who will consider undergoing Lasik procedure?
  • Adults over the age of 18 who have had fixed eye myopia degree for one year.
  • Adults with no corneal or other eye diseases.
  • Non pregnant females (procedure should be postponed till labor).
  • Adults that have a complete and detailed apprehension of the advantages and disadvantages of the procedure, and have realistic expectations of the outcomes.

How long is the length of stay for Lasik procedure?
Lasik is a day case procedure that does not necessitate spending the night in the hospital.

How is Lasik procedure performed?

The latest Excimer Laser (Wavefront & Non-wavefront System) will be used for complete diagnosis and treatment of the refractive problems: myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. The procedure will take around an hour or two hours including preparation.

What are the post-Lasik precautions?
  • Avoid rubbing; avoid dusty place or smoking area to avoid irritation as the cause of rubbing
  • Keep Hair aay from the eyes to avoid irritation.
  • Avoid eyes fatigue within 24 hours after LASIK to avoid irritation
  • Avoid water contact with your eyes
  • Avoid swimming for about 2 weeks.
  • Irrigate the eyes with artificial tears.
  • Eye make up should be completely avoided
  • Avoid direct exposure of the eyes to sun. Always protect the eyes from the sun by using sun glasses as following the attending ophthalmologist
  • Always remember that the following advices always minimize incidence of any complication.
